Instant Pot Beef and Sweet Potato Chili Recipe

This Instant Pot Beef and Sweet Potato Chili is a hearty and delectable one-pot meal ideal for a cold winter day. The sweet potatoes sweeten the spicy chili, while the beef and beans make it filling and satisfying.

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 12 minutes
  • Total Time: 27 minutes

Instructions

  • Add the olive oil to the Instant Pot after pressing the sauté button.
  • When the oil is hot, add the ground beef and brown it for 5-6 minutes.
  • Cook for another 2-3 minutes after adding the onion, red bell pepper, and garlic.
  • Combine the sweet potatoes, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
  • To combine, stir everything together.
  • Close the lid of the Instant Pot and ensure the valve is set to sealing.
  • For 12 minutes, set the Instant Pot to manual mode.
  • When the cooking time is up, allow the pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes.
  • Then, slowly turn the valve to the venting position to release any remaining pressure.
  • Remove the lid from the Instant Pot and stir the chili.
  • Serve immediately.
